SECTION 1.
(No. 72.)
(Telegraphic.) P.
Sir Edward Grey to Mr. Max Müller.
BURMAH-YÜNNAN frontier.
Your telegram No. 88 of the 26th April.
Foreign Office, May 4, 1910.
I presume that His Majesty's consul at Têngyüeh is sending a full report of the situation, and that it should reach us before long. The Government of Burmah are urging that some arrangement should be made for an expedition to be sent in the autumn to expel, if necessary, any Chinese or raiders who may be found in the region of Renma, and to bring the district under British administration. We do not wish to agree to this before having detailed information.
